Click to access fan page! I believe it was on last Sunday's Morning Service, when my Pastor said it best: "God can answer a prayer so quickly that you -- if you're not careful-- could forget to say thank you." To keep my faithful blog readers updated, I'd like to thank God publicly for resolving the issue I had with Facebook (for those who aren't familiar, read the "He's the author and FINISHER of my faith" blog post). Since we've successfully been unblocked by Facebook, the Dig My Sneaks: A Blog by Tre Michael fan page on Facebook has been exceedingly successful. I'd also like to thank all of you for every hit, read, and comments-- you guys are awesome.

The book of James is becoming one of my favorites. On the surface, this 3-or-4-paged book-- for lack of a better word-- seems to be a small contribution to the bible; however, I emphatically disagree. As I was reading earlier, It occurred to me just how efficient, yet powerful, James had been with communicating--with just 5 short chapters, James was able to deliver a word from God that would continue to impact the lives of millions for generations. Surely, James was not the prolific writer as was Paul, by whom most of the New Testament was written; however, I do believe James' ministry was just as important as Paul's. Many times, we as Christians compare ministries. Sometimes we're so concerned with keeping up with the next person's ministry, that we lose focus of the ministry God has given us--I too am guilty of this. However we must be kingdom minded and not carnal minded. Stop comparing the tools that God has given you to the tools He has given someone else, for as James said "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father..." (James 1:17). You are significant. You have purpose. Discover yourself in Christ. God loves you. --Tre Michael If you haven't heard already, My blog has been offically "reported as abusive" or "offensive" to facebook. I have been personally disappointed because not only is the accusation petty, but it has effectively sabotaged my advertising on facebook, my primary source for advertisement. Needless to say, I am dissatisfied with the situation for a variety of reasons. What happened to freedom of speech and press? How has the love of the Gospel been interpreted as abuse? How will I successfully advertise my blog to further propagate the Love of Jesus Christ? These have been the reoccurring questions that seem to have invaded my mind since I got the news Yet, God is good. I was given a copy of "My Personal Promise Bible" yesterday and I, just by reading within the first few pages, have been encouraged, greatly. Here's one scripture that I found under the "Achievement" section.
"Except You, Lord, build the house, they labor in vain who build it. Except You, Lord, keep the city, the watchman wake but in vain" (Psalm 127:1). I can be assured that whatever device the enemy builds against me will fall. God is in control of my situation. God is control of your situation. Allow him to craft you and to establish you according to His perfect will. Let Him write your life as a novel worthy of the Bestseller list. He is the author and finisher of our faith. God Bless, Tre Michael. I'd like to start of this post by saying hey!! You cannot imagine how much I've missed writing to you all! I've been celebrating my 22nd birthday this passed week so you can imagine how festive it has been. God is truly awesome and I feel blessed beyond measure-- something about birthdays cause me to reflect on my life and to gain a new found appreciation for it. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Well in the midst of all the commotion, I was fortunate enough to hear the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ, that which spoke to my heart. A higher calling -- these 3 words have been embedded in my innermost being and have become the theme for my walk with Christ. See, I am convinced that God has a unique purpose for every individual according to His grace and according to that individual's faith. With that being said, we ought not to measure ourselves among ourselves, for neither of us are the standard by which another should live. (see 2 Corinthians 10:12). In other words, I should not aspire to be like you and you should not inspired to be like me, for when we do this, we are placing limits on our development. However, there is no limits if you measure yourself in Christ Jesus. So I've been constantly reminded of Proverbs 31:1-9 throughout the week. Here are a few things I love about these scriptures. Verse 3 is so applicable to us young, single Christians. "Give not thy strength unto women [ or for the ladies, unto men ], nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings [ or queens ]"
As the bible says, we as Christians are heirs-- sons and daughters of God-- in Christ Jesus. In other words, we are royalty. With that being the case, God requires excellence. The verse above is a mother instructing a king in his youth about the things that could potentially hinder him from fulfilling his high calling. Along the same lines, we cannot afford to get distracted by our own fleshly desires. The mother says "give not thy strength unto women" or, in other words, do not allow yourself and your judgment to be weakened or skewed by romance. Considering myself a romantic, I'll admit, this is a challenge for me. However, if God is able to do it for me, he's able to do it for you too. As Christians, we should not be all "caught up" in our girlfriends or boyfriends, among other things, but we should be focused on answering our calling. Don't limit yourself. You may think you know what your calling is, "However, as it is written: 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him' (1 Corinthians 2:9) God Bless You, Tre Michael My grandmother, being the artist that she is, decided a few months ago to paint my bathroom a rich, dark red. And on every morning as I stand in the bathroom, I think about how cool it would be to get a photo opp with its walls as the backdrop. Well one morning, after posing as a Target model for few moments, I noticed a small spiderweb suspended over my head. With little thought of the anomaly, I went about my day as usual. Few days go by and once again I notice the same spiderweb up in the corner and few smaller ones sprouting around the original. I thought to myself, "ya know, someone really ought to get rid of these spiderwebs", for they were starting to become an eyesore. However, just as the days prior, I resumed my daily routine, without taking the time to do it. Well a couple of weeks went by and the little spiderweb situation was yet addressed and had become much more problematic-- the span of the spiderweb had been enlarged and the little ambitious spider had effectively taken over my bathroom. Not to mention, everyday the little spider became much more menacing, for he had succeeded in catching dinner. Ugh, I wince at the very notion. But how much more does God wince at the sin in our lives? Just as the spiderweb, sin could seem to be something so small and so insignificant that there is no need to address it; however, almost exponentially, sin begins to take over and ruin the quality of our lives. Because of the red walls, I detected the spiderweb immediately. Likewise, if you apply the blood of Jesus in your life, it will expose sin for the filthy, anomaly that it is.
In closing, I ask you all to inspect every room-- every facet of your life-- and tear down the webs of sin. God Bless, Tre Michael "In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other So that man can find out nothing that will come after him." (Ecclesiastes 7:14 New King James Version) I find my self often saying in my prayers Lord, I receive your blessings and also your chastening -- the rewards of being a Christian as well as the difficulties thereof. This is important because each together, in proportion, is the whole Love of God. However, it takes a mature Christian to not only recognize this concept as true, but to also exercise it in his or her walk with Christ. I truly believe that you cannot chose to know Jesus solely "in the power of his Resurrection" without getting know Him "In the fellowship of His suffering", for God is whole and requires you to experience His love in whole (see Philippians 3:7-11).So when was the last time you thanked Jesus for pain and sorrow? or for which hurt have you rendered Jesus a wholehearted praise? Consider what the bible says. "Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better." (Ecclesiastes 7:3).
So when you experience heartache, realize that you're in the process of becoming a better you -- be thankful. God bless you, --Tre Michael The voice is arguably the greatest tool of influence known to man. We've seen the many paradigm shifts in history -- the American Revolution, Nazi Germany's reign, Civil Rights Movement, etc.-- and the voice remains the key component to every great movement, whether it be good or bad. Surely, just as the bible says, "death and life are in the power of the tongue..."(Proverbs 18:21). In other words, one has the power to speak either life or death-- constructive or destructive words-- into one's own life, into another person's life, or into the world at large. The voice is truly a powerful tool and one should not use it carelessly. However, with the billions of people who populated our planet, there are many voices that confront us, many of which contradict each other. So how do we decipher which voices to listen to and which to dismiss? The answer is simple: you know a tree by its fruits (see Luke 6:44). First off, as Christians, we should be bearing good fruit such as love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, etc (see Galatians 5:22-23) according to the Holy Spirit. If we don't bear these fruits, we are not walking in the Spirit. Furthermore, if we're not walking in the Spirit, we are none of His (see Romans 8:9) 'harvest with few laborers' Second, as Christians it is our responsibility to use our voice--singular because each individual Christian's voice should reflect the one voice of Christ-- in order to impact a godless world. Evangelism; outreach; telling the world about the Gospel of Jesus Christ -- this has to be the unrelenting purpose of the Church. How can they know if we don't tell them?
It's time to take the Church outside of the church building. We must help save the world with our voice. God Bless You, --Tre Michael "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever" (Psalms 23:6). Ok perhaps "stalker" wasn't the appropriate word choice, but i wanted to get your attention! At any rate, there's not much more that I can add to this infallible truth -- if you follow Christ with faith that is unrelenting, expect goodness and mercy to follow you in the same manner. It is more sure than science and more true than the laws of nature: for those who seek after Him and his righteousness, there are continual blessings in store which are beyond measure. As for you scientists and skeptics, prove Jesus wrong! -- I dare you to follow Christ and see if goodness and mercy doesn't follow you. As you know, you cannot conclude anything that you have not tested. Therefore, it's only logical -- your reasonable service -- to seek after Christ in the logical manner (according to the Bible) and to experience his goodness for yourself. You don't have to prove if there's a God -- allow God to prove Himself to you.
For my brothers and sisters in Christ: the devil is a liar! Don't allow him to tell you otherwise. Whenever you feel lonely, remember you have the goodness and the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ following you. God Bless -Tre Michael |
