Within the crux of my life -- that is, that transition from, let's say, early 20s to actual adulthood-- I find myself becoming more and more concerned with the future. Allow me to speak for all young adults when I say that this stage of our lives has been the most challenging time to date. Never before have our own decisions held so much weight in the well being of our lives. Hmmm...Selah. This being the case for my life, I find myself frequenting the book of Joshua more than ever before. I personally relate with Joshua because his life serves as a classic example of God using a young person to fulfill a huge task. Let me give you a crash course synompsys. God had delivered His people from Egypt with the leadership of Moses and had promised them their own land - the Promised Land. Well before the promise of God was fulfilled, Moses died and the responsibilty to lead was placed on Joshua. If you could take a moment and imagine the emotions Joshua may have experienced, you'd probably see a bit of yourself in his situation. No longer could he depend of the decisions, leadership, and experience of his elders; rather, It was just he and God.
Sound familiar? Stay tuned.
